Wesco Anixter
The Brief
Reorg Electrical Contractors were engaged by Wesco Anixter to deliver a comprehensive electrical fit-out for a state-of-the-art warehouse and office complex, which included Europe’s first standalone warehouse automation system by AutoStore. The space is over 100,000 sq. ft. and required high-level containment, LV mains panel installation, and thorough testing.
What We Did
This project presented a number of challenges, including a highly demanding environment and the need to adapt U.S.-based designs and drawings to local standards.
Reorg’s experienced team worked efficiently with the client to ensure the project went as smoothly as possible.
Project Highlights:
– Highly Complex, Demanding Environment: The project was a full electrical fit-out for the client’s office space and large-scale automated warehouse. Working with Europe’s first standalone AutoStore system introduced several unique challenges, including strict safety and operational requirements for the automation system.
– U.S.-Based Drawings & Designs: The project required Reorg’s team to interpret and adapt American electrical designs to meet European standards. This involved extensive collaboration with the client and other stakeholders, adding complexity to the overall task. The team worked closely with the client’s U.S. design teams to ensure every element was correctly interpreted and implemented according to both local regulations and the client’s operational requirements.
– High-Level Containment and Full Installation: Reorg covered all electrical aspects from the LV mains panel through to the end circuits. The scope of work included installation and containment in both office and warehouse environments. The complex nature of the warehouse, featuring high ceilings and intricate automation, required expert-level planning and precision. The electrical installation was critical to ensuring that the warehouse automation system functioned seamlessly.
– Thorough Testing and Handover: Testing and commissioning were carried out meticulously, ensuring that all systems were safe, compliant, and fully operational. Reorg delivered the project with minimal disruption to the client’s operations.
Outcome
The project was completed on time and exceeded the client’s expectations. The client, having had prior experiences with other suppliers, noted that Reorg provided a superior service. As a result, this successful project has led to further work at the client’s other locations and projects.
The client has since merged and relocated several of their sites into one consolidated facility. Given Reorg’s success on the initial fit-out, the team was again approached to handle the electrical requirements for the new integrated site, further solidifying a trusted partnership.
